Edukasi Dampak Kesehatan Mental dan Penangangan Sampah Rumah Tangga Selama Pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 saat ini telah menurun jumlah penderitanya, namun demikian perlu tetap waspada dengan menjaga kesehatan, kebersihan, dan 5M. Adanya pandemi dan langkah penangannya secara tidak langsung berdampak negatif pada kesehatan mental dan lingkungan. Untuk membangun wawasan masayarakat maka dapat dilakukan kegiatan berupa webinar. Kegitan webinar dilakukan dengan judul SEMU (Sebar Ilmu untuk Umum). Adapun dua tema yang diangkat adalah “Dampak Pandemi terhadap Masyarakat” dan “Dampak Pandemi terhadap Sampah Rumah Tangga”. Kegiatan ini diikuti sebanyak 133 peserta dan 147 peserta untuk masing-masing tema. Aktifnya peserta dalam mengisi feedback dan memberikan pertanyaan kepada narasumber memperlihatkan ketertarikan yang tinggi dengan tema yang dibawakan pada kegiatan ini.  Proses berpikir, perilaku, dan respons emosional orang terhadappandemi Covid-19 sangat bervariasi sesuai dengan latar belakang mereka sendiri dan komunitas tempat mereka tinggal. Beberapa masyarakat dapat mendapatkan informasi yang salah, ketidakpastian, dan ketakutan akan penularan dapat meningkatkan stres dan kecemasan, yang dapat menyebabkan kepanikan massal. Disisi lain, Covid-19 juga berdampak terhadap daur ulang sampah, sistem pengelolaan sampah, kuantitas sampah yang dihasilkan, dan komposisi sampah. Perubahan gaya hidup, terutama penyediaan kebutuhan sehari-hari, seperti maraknya penggunaan jasa antar ke rumah, telah mengangkat sampah kemasan seperti kertas dan plastik.
