JAVANESE LANGUAGE USAGE IN NGADISONO VILLAGE KALIWIRO SUB-DISTRICT WONOSOBO DISTRICT: A PHONO-LEXICAL REVIEW
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe the symptoms of Javanese language use in Ngadisono village in terms of phonological aspects, and lexicon aspects. The theory used is Meillet's theory in Ayatrohaedi (1983), which states that the unity of dialect characteristics is a difference in unity and unity in difference. This research took place in Ngadisono village (BJNg) with a qualitative approach. Linguistic data were obtained from informants in the form of Javanese speech (ngoko and krama). Data collection was done by recording technique, cooperation technique with informants, indepth interviewing technique, listening and note taking technique, questionnaire technique, and introspection technique. Data analysis was carried out using commensurate and distributional methods. From the results of the analysis and discussion in this study, it is obtained that the description of the phonological elements of BJNg does not have much difference with the standard Javanese language, both in sound and form. The difference that appears is in the use of Javanese ngoko which tends to pronounce the phoneme /a/ still realized as /a/ not /ɔ/, both in the antipenultima, penultima, and ultima positions, for example in the word [awan] 'cloud', There is a vowel sound [U] which is an allophone of /o/ phoneme in the word [g Ubl*Ug] 'stupid', a vowel sound [*I] which is an allophone of /ɘ/ phoneme in the word [g*Ig*Ir] 'back', and the use of consonant phoneme /z/ in the word [gize] 'this'. (2) A typical lexicon of BJNg is found which characterizes BJNg and distinguishes it from Javanese in other regions such as, [atlk] 'use', [meak] 'step on', [mlanjar] 'stay', [kontrak] 'forest', [bɛrɛn] 'dirty', [cupɘl] 'short', [bud-budan] 'last', ndlindiŋ] 'bablas', [sandɘr] 'fast', [diagog-agogi] 'threatened', and [nowɘl] 'disappointed'. (3) Thus, it can be concluded that in general, BJNg is close and similar to standard Javanese
