The Ability of Lactic Acid Bacteria Isolates from Saanen Goat Colostrum against Various Antibiotics using Well Diffusion Metode

Lactic acid bacteria (LAB) isolates used as starter cultures may have reduced viability when consumed alongside antibiotics. This study aimed to evaluate the resistance of LAB isolates from Saanen goat colostrum to various antibiotics dan to select suitable isolates for use as starter cultures. The method used was the well diffusion test on 9 LAB isolates (KS-D, KS-F, KS-H, KS-J, KS-N, KS-S, KS-T, KS-U, KS-W) dan 4 antibiotics (amoxicillin, cefadroxil, cefixime, dan ciprofloxacin). The results showed that cefadroxil had the highest activity (29.1 mm), followed by ciprofloxacin (23.6 mm), amoxicillin (19.9 mm), dan cefixime (16.6 mm). The KS-T isolate exhibited the highest resistance to amoxicillin (8.8 mm), cefixime (8.5 mm), dan ciprofloxacin (1 mm) but was sensitive to cefadroxil (24.3 mm). The KS-T isolate is recommended as the primary cdanidate starter culture for co-administration with antibiotic therapy. The KS-D dan KS-J isolates are alternative cdanidates, dan the majority of isolates are sensitive to antibiotics. The conclusion of this study is that the KS-T isolate is the primary cdanidate, while the KS-D dan KS-J isolates are alternatives.
